Tia in her boarding kennel in the uk
At last Tia has arrived safely in England from Romania. Poor girl had a gruelling journey lasting over twenty four hours and was understandably really traumatised and none too happy. Amazingly she is adjusting quickly and showing her cheeky personality.
Tia safe in her new temporary home.
She is friendly, loving, and well behaved, if a tad noisy, and will do anything for a sweet. Our fundraising for her rescue went reasonably well so we couldn’t resist also bringing along young Casper, a poor little puppy who had been dumped by the side of a road tied up in a bag.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP US TO HELP TIA
Tia is a little dog, only about one year old, who has been to hell and back. Living as a street dog in Romania, Tia was caught in a wire snare which caused horrific wounds around her stomach area. Two wires had been embedded tightly in her body for at least three to four days and the wound was severely infected.
Tia's injury. She was seen in a garden close to a Romanian shelter and then ran screaming pitifully to hide in a concrete drain. The wire became snagged causing even more pain but eventually Tia was coaxed near enough to the end of the drain for her rescuer to grab her and haul her to safety.

Tia about to be operated on.
It is simply not possible to find a good home for Tia in Romania, there are so many desperate dogs and so few kind homes, and cruelty does seem to be rife.Tia is a friendly little girl who gets on well with people and other dogs. Of course she will be neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped as are all of our dogs
Tia stitched and in recovery
Please will you donate to the PACT emergency fund in order that we may bring Tia to England so that she can find the safe forever home which she deserves?
Tia praying for a new home.
We will not use our kennels on site but will with your help hire space in a trusted local boarding kennels. Neither will we use funds donated in the normal way for the benefit of our local rescues but will set up a special emergency fund for Tia and other international cases.
It will cost around £250 pounds to bring Tia to safety at PACT and a further £6 per day for kennelling plus any further veterinary care. Any donation no matter how small will help save Tia.
PLEASE NOTE NO BRITISH DOG WILL BE TURNED AWAY FROM PACT TO MAKE SPACE FOR TIA!

FIFTY THOUSAND STRAY DOGS ROAM THE STREETS OF ROMANIA
The situation in Romania is dire, with the government ordering the cull of the many street dogs and having appointed dog catchers to carry out this cull in the cruellest of ways. Already there have been many reports of massacres throughout Romania. Dogs are caught in these terrible wire traps and either left to die or bludgeoned to death or worse. Many local people consider it sport to chase and mutilate or abuse stray dogs. There are few shelters in Romania, and the majority of those are corrupt where further cruelty takes place, dogs have to resort to cannibalism, and puppies starve or freeze to death. Rescues centres are underfunded and regularly broken into and dogs attacked. These shelters have reached crisis point and are now considering, having nursed the dogs back to health, releasing them back onto the streets to take their chances. Dogs like Tia deserve better than that.
“In my years of being involved with animal welfare the situation in Romania is one of the worst that I have encountered and my natural instinct is to try to help these poor creatures. I am however aware of the huge number of dogs in our own country needing our help, hence this appeal.”

Every dog rehomed allows another dog to be saved.
“One day a man was walking along a beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, ‘what are you doing?’ The youth replied, ‘throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back they’ll die.’ ‘Son’ the man said, ‘don’t you realise there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!’ After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then smiling at the man, he said ... ’I made a difference for that one.’”
