Neglected special girl needs a loving home

ZIGGY is approximately fourteen years old, a black and white neutered female who came to us after we received a call about a possible stray, neglected cat.

Our staff searched the reported area for her only to discover she did have an owner who thought her appearance was due to old age.  On checking, she had ear mites, thinning fur due to a flea allergy and ringworm; she was also extremely thin which could have been due to stress or an undiagnosed illness.  We strongly advised the owner that the cat must be seen by a vet within 24 hours.

Two days later the lady turned up at the sanctuary with Ziggy saying her daughter didn’t want her and she couldn’t afford to care for her. Since being with us Ziggy has recovered from ringworm and ear mites but does suffer with a luxating patella of the right leg and arthritis and needs daily medication, which we will continue to provide, with regular vet checks at the sanctuary vet unit, when she finds her forever home.  Can you offer a quiet home for this special girl to relax and enjoy her senior years?

If you think you could offer Ziggy a forever home,  please contact the PACT Animal sanctuary in the first instance on 01362 820775 or email us
