Sharmalie

Looking for care and affection in a loving home

Sharmalie is an 8yr old tabby male who came to us in a dangerously over weight state, his owner passed away after a long illness,  Sharmarlie would sit with his owner on the sofa and eat treats all day. When his owner passed away the wife couldn’t cope with him, as he had claimed the sofa as his area she had to bribe him with food to get him off the sofa, further adding to his weight problem.  Since he has been with us, Sharmarlie has been on a strict feeding plan to help him lose weight and slowly his weight is reducing.

Sharmarlie’s case highlights the importance of not overfeeding, as struggling to breathe and more dangerously the strain on the heart could have shortened his life. It’s so important to remember a healthy balanced diet is needed, give love, affection and not food treats. If your cat is always hungry seek advice on what to feed and how much.

Sharmarlie is looking for an adult only home where he’s the only pet and an owner who will help him continue reducing his weight to a healthy leaner level, which our vet team will happily continue to monitor and help them to achieve.

If you think you could offer Sharmalie a forever home, please contact the PACT Animal sanctuary in the first instance on 01362 820775 or email us
