Dilly Dalmatian

This is an appeal for help to pay for the veterinary
costs
for this lovely puppy

PACT Animal Sanctuary was asked by a veterinary surgery to take a cute little Dalmatian puppy when it was discovered that she was suffering from a bilateral inguinal hernia and needed potentially expensive surgery. The breeder could not pay for her treatment and so this poor little soul was faced with being put to sleep at only eight weeks old, before she had had any life at all. Of course we agreed to admit her and give her a chance. As soon as she arrived we all fell in love with her.

We named her Dilly and promised to do our best to pay for whatever she needed. Our Sophie, a real enthusiast for all things spotty (or should that be dotty!) has taken Dilly under her wing and is taking care of her at her own home as she needs such a high level of special care.

Unfortunately when our vets carried out the pre op checks it was discovered that Dilly also has a serious heart condition, but it is still possible for her to live a normal life with lots of help from her friends. Dilly came through her first op successfully and is due for her second op very soon. So far the estimate for her veterinary care is in the region of at least £1500 but this could be considerably more. For Dilly to fully recover we need to raise at least the first £1500. Please help give this sweet puppy the chance she deserves.

Update on Dilly.

Dilly with her friend Harvey

Dilly is doing really well, she came through her operation with flying colours and behaves like a normal playful, sometimes naughty puppy. Her heart will never be good however, and she does need to be kept as calm as it is possible to keep a lively young Dalmatian. She has one more hurdle to clear next week when she has to go through another operation, to be neutered, as our vet. says that to go through the trauma of her first season may well cause serious harm. Dilly might not make it to be an old dog, her heart may not allow it, but she is certainly enjoying life and should have a good few years  yet to have fun.
