Abbie is a beautiful German Shepherd who came into the sanctuary on the 19th of February 2024, due to no fault of her own. An unfortunate loss in her last family meant that Abbie would no longer get the time she needed.

In her previous home Abbie was well loved, this shines through with a gentle giant personality. Abbie is well trained knowing her basic commands and walking nicely with a loose lead. Abbie is house-trained and not destructive. Abbie has lived with other dogs before but would prefer a quieter slower-paced friend as her old bones cannot keep up with the young wiper snappers any more.

While Abbie has been at the sanctuary, we have found that she loves nothing more than a short sniffing plod. Followed up by her breakfast and then a prolonged stay in one of the offices where she can sleep knowing she has company. She has made friends with a few calmer dogs and has never shown aggression. Abbie does have hip dysplasia and is on medication that PACT will cover.

Being a German Shepherd, Abbie bonds tightly with her person. She is used to being left for short periods, never causing an issue only sleeping. Once you are back from your time out you are sure to a warm welcome from Abbie though as she gets very excited to see her person back again.

Abbie loves to play with balls, tennis or football she loves to play. Abbie has a huge heart and hopes she can be let in to yours. If you feel like you can give Abbie a home please apply to rehome Abbie, please click here:
