Chester is an affectionate and confident 8 year old Boston Terrier cross, who is now seeking his forever home after coming into our care as an unclaimed stray via the dog warden.

Chester greets everyone with a waggy tail, a happy demeanour and thrives on companionship so is therefore eager to find his own loving family.

After just a short time of Chester being in our care, it was evident that he was struggling to cope in a kennel environment. We therefore matched him and his needs to one of our foster homes which is where he is spending his time currently.

His foster carer has described him as “the perfect house guest”, proving he is house trained, non destructive and travels without stress in a car.

Chester’s new home would need to be where he is the only dog in the household as while he seems happy around other dogs, he struggles to tolerate over enthusiastic dogs that don’t respect his space.

He could however, enjoy social lead walks with other dogs following careful introductions.

Any children in Chester’s new household will need to be aged 12 and upwards.
Chester has shown potential to experience stress when left alone, he would therefore require a home where he will have minimal alone time initially while he settles and his physical and mental stimulation needs can be met.
Chester seems to understand his basic commands but will benefit from additional positive reward based training, especially for loose lead walking as he can be strong on the lead when out on his walks.
When familiar and bonded with his carer, Chester will be comfortable enough to show his sensitive and affectionate side, enjoying fuss, cuddles and attention from his favourite human.

If you are looking for a loving companion who will bring joy and happiness to your life, Chester could very well be the perfect match for you.
