This is Poppy. Poppy is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you will ever meet. Which is why we find it impossible to understand why she has been in kennels for the majority of her adult life. 😔 Little Miss Poppy is a German Hunting Terrier who originally came to us November 2009 (!!!) after living in a kennel on a pig farm. She was used as a ratter. She had never been socialised and was incredibly scared of loud noises and people. For a while she had a friend at the rescue, a German Shepherd named Zeta. Zeta got adopted and Poppy has been on her own since.
In 2011 we thought we'd found her forever home, but we are only human after all and even we can make mistakes. Poppy was and still is very nervous. Having never lived in a home she was terrified of all the sounds and open spaces. Poppy escaped and was missing for two weeks.

Poppy is incredibly nervous of new people but once she knows you wants nothing more than to curl up on your lap and have a cuddle. She gets on well with some dogs but cannot live with cats or small animals.

She is now 14years old and we would love to find someone with a quiet, calm home. Someone who has patience and time to let her settle and build her confidence.

Poppy would be best suited to a single female owner household - ideally an older lady - with a fully secure home and garden.

She is so sweet and doesn't have a bad bone in her body, she is just very timid. Please help us find her a home.
