Eunice came into the sanctuary as an unclaimed stray via the dog warden where she had previously been found tied up and abandoned on a stretch of a busy road. Eunice was underweight and painfully nervous. She was estimated to be around 2 years of age.
Eunice really struggled with the intensity of a kennel environment, really shutting herself down, she therefore was placed in a temporary foster home with a member of our kennel team where she has absolutely embraced the opportunity of being in a home and made so much progress that she is now ready to find her forever home.
Eunice is a gentle soul who walks amazingly on a lead. Despite the fact of her recall being well established, it seems to fall on deaf ears should she have the opportunity to chase a squirrel or rabbit!! We would therefore only advise for her to be let off the lead for walks in a secure dog training paddock as her breed trait of natural prey drive is very much apparent.
Eunice is clean in the home and is crate trained, although given the choice she would much rather snuggle up on the sofa with her owner!
Unfortunately Eunice does not settle well if left for long periods of time as she seems to suffer with separation anxiety. She therefore requires an owner where someone is at home with her the majority of the time. She would also benefit from going to a home where there is another well mannered dog, having living happily with 2 others in her temporary foster home.
Eunice is used to travelling in a car and travels well, without stress or worry. She is equally happy accepting strangers in her home. She requires plenty of physical exercise a large, secure garden with 6ft boundaries where she can complete some zoomies and play with her tennis ball. She can live with children aged 8yrs and over.
