Reggie came into our care, through no fault of his own, due to a change in circumstanceswith his previous owner. Reggie found kennel life really quite stressful and this impacted on his eating as we struggled for him to feel comfortable enough to eat his meals. He therefore went into foster with one of our kennel staff and this is where we have seen him progress into the sweet natured little lad he is, oozing in character!

Reggie is now ready to seek his forever home. Ideally this would be where there are no cats living or any children below 8 years of age. Reggie currently shares his foster home with 5 other dogs and does so very respectfully. He seems to gain confidence from fellow, like minded dogs of similar size, so could be rehomed with another dog, pending successful meets at the sanctuary. He loves being outside so would benefit from a home with a nice sized, fully secure garden (will require boundaries of 4ft +) where he can run around and play his favourite game of fetch.

Although Reggie enjoys his walks, he can sometimes get overwhelmed by traffic passinghim, especially at speed. He would therefore prefer his daily walks to be around low traffic areas. He walks well on his lead and harness and although he can get a little over excited when he sees other dogs whilst out on his walk, he will settle relatively quickly and greet dogs respectfully. He would be suitable for social lead walks as again, he seems to gain in confidence around other like minded dogs of similar size. Reggie knows his basic commands, sit, down , paw and even speak! He is also proving to be house trained during the time he has spent in his foster home. Reggie has recently been on short car journeys and seems to travel comfortably in the car.

Due to Reggie’s breed, he will require regular sessions with a groomer and brushing in between visits. He has been used to this in his previous home and happily stands for hisgrooming sessions. Reggie has had leaving hours introduced whilst being in his foster home. These certainly have the potential to be gradually increased once he is settled in his new home.

All in all, Reggie is proving to be the perfect houseguest in his foster home, he is very affectionate , enjoying full on snuggles with his foster carers and following them around the home. He is playful and friendly, an all round happy lad that will make some lucky person a wonderful companion.
