Veterinary costs at PACT Animal sanctuary are always very substantial. We neuter, vaccinate and routinely worm/flea all rescue animals where appropriate and then make sure the animal is fit and healthy before being put up for rehoming.

We have a veterinary unit where routine procedures such as x-rays and dentals can be carried out but more serious work is sometimes done via external vets.

The Animal Ambulance

Our staff hours are between 9am and 5pm, but of course animals are always in need of rescuing, even at 1am. This is why we always have a member of staff on-call for emergencies. Our on-call staff are trained to give the best assessment they can on an animal and take the necessary steps to ensure it’s welfare. Sometimes this may be a simple bedding down for the night, making sure a stray dog is warm and fed, or it may be an emergency vet call out to a deer involved in a car accident.

The ambulance is available 24/7 for road traffic accidents which can result in seriously injured animals being admitted into PACT's care. The costs can run into many hundreds of pounds. These fees can only be paid because of the generosity of our supporters. Without them the work cannot go on.
