Mario is an 8 year old terrier cross that has come into our care after being rescued from terrible living conditions where he was used solely as a stud dog. He is now looking for a permanent home he can call his own, where he can have the love and attention he deserves.

Mario’s ideal home would be where he is the only dog in the home, although he could certainly have doggy pals to enjoy walks with, outside of the home. Mario is not fond of cats and any children in the household would need to be aged 8 and upwards.

Mario is the most sweet natured boy. Sadly, he has previously had very little, if any, human interaction. Initially, when meeting new people, Mario can be a little conflicted between wanting the fuss and cuddles on offer but also feeling a little worried. It is therefore important that you ensure introductions are done with Mario feeling completely comfortable by noting his overall body language.

Once Mario is happy and comfortable around you, he is the most affectionate little man going, thriving on the fuss and attention you give him. He is very food orientated so responds very well to basic command training with the assistance of some nice, tasty food rewards. He walks well on a lead and enjoys the opportunities to have a gentle plod, sniffing out new environments. Unfortunately, Mario does suffer with the start of some age related joint stiffness on his back legs but PACT will cover any medication or follow ups required for this particular health complaint.
