Polly came into our care having been operated on in an emergency situation for the life-threatening condition of pyometra.

As Polly recovered from her surgery it became evident that she was not cut out for kennel life. She showed several symptoms of stress and separation anxiety. She therefore went into foster care with a member of sanctuary staff.

Since being in foster we have had the opportunity to see more of her amazing personality. Polly can be a little anxious when meeting new people (males in particular) so introductions need to be done slowly and gradually. Once Polly is familiar and comfortable around you she adores affection, fuss and cuddles.

Polly loves being outdoors so would prefer a home with access to a secure garden with boundaries of 6 ft in height. She is always keen for her walks and any opportunity to sniff out new environments. She does however have quite a strong prey drive so at times can be strong on a lead, especially if she spots a bird or rabbit!

Her forever home will need to be a calm and quiet environment with any children in the household being aged 14 years and upwards. Due to Polly’s separation anxiety, her new owner will initially need to be at home the majority of time and then be prepared to introduce leaving hours and build them up slowly.

In the home, Polly has proven to be non destructive, house trained, travels comfortably in the car and very food orientated!!
